Don't Make It Harder for your PA DUI Lawyer!

If you find yourself facing Pennsylvania police for a possible arrest in a DUI incident, here's a helpful hint: Don't kick the police officers.  It just makes it that much more difficult for your PA DUI lawyer to defend you.

An Allentown woman didn't think much of this, however, when she kicked a police officer in the chest. The woman, Lauren Marie Hummel-Spruill, 20, allegedly assaulted the officer while the officer was placing her in the patrol car. The state trooper involved was placing Hummel-Spruill in the car following an arrest for driving under the influence.

Ms. Hummel-Spruill also allegedly had drug paraphernalia in her possession at the time of the arrest.

Another state trooper was also mildly injured in the event, hurting his knee while attempting to restrain the suspect.

The net result for Hummel-Spruill was that she was charged with not just one DUI offense, but several offenses, including aggravated assault and resisting arrest, among other offenses.

And while a PA DUI lawyer would have had an easier time defending a client with a simple DUI infraction, a case like this is a serious headache for a PA DUI lawyer.

But it's really the perfect storm, because Hummel-Spruill was also drinking under the legal age of 21. As such, she was also charged with the offense of underage drinking.

Although typically, a DUI case will end at the arraignment phase, which is where many DUI suspects plead guilty through their PA DUI lawyer, the same may not be the case when there are compounded charges.

Unfortunately for Ms. Hummel-Spruill, she needs to be making phone calls and doing her research for a good PA DUI lawyer, otherwise she might find herself before an unsympathetic court.
