Living dangerously might be fun for some, but it certainly has its consequences.
PA DUI attorneys were unable to help Angel Vasquez, the 31-year old man who was told by a Montgomery County judge that he had lived a life of recklessness. Vasquez was sentenced earlier this month after his PA DUI attorneys convinced him to plead guilty.
Vasquez pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault by a vehicle while driving drunk, driving under the influence of alcohol and fleeing or attempting to elude police.
Given Vasquez's criminal history, there was not much his PA DUI attorneys could do on his behalf. Indeed, the judge spoke of Vasquez's lifestyle, calling his driving record "deplorable" and citing his convictions for assault and violating protection from abuse orders.
Although Vasquez did not kill anyone during his intoxicated drive, he did injure a 25 year old woman from Royesford, breaking all four of her limbs in the crash. Prior to the crash, where the judge claimed the victim was lucky to be alive, Vasquez was involved in a high-speed police chase for an unrelated domestic incident.
Vasquez's PA DUI attorneys attempted to make a case for him, saying that Vasquez was misunderstood and that he had completed anger management and parenting classes while incarcerated. As such, his PA DUI attorneys argued for a lighter sentence of one year, maximum, plus probation.
Unfortunately for Vaquez, the judge sentenced him to 21 months to six years in a Pennsylvania state correctional facility.
Indeed, there is only so much his PA DUI attorneys could have done, when his record of legal disregard and recklessness spoke for itself.
