Avoid bad driving habits!
That's the message from Pa DUI lawyers and local students alike.
PennDOT released the winning names of its second annual "Drive Safe PA" radio public service announcement contest. The names were released on Wednesday as part of a campaign to curb distracted driving, which is a part of National Youth Traffic Safety Month.
The winning entries came from each of the 11 PennDOT districts and drew attention to bad driving behaviors. Some of these supposed bad driving behaviors included distracted driving, drinking and driving, staying within the speed limit, wearing a seat belt and planning ahead to get directions in advance.
The campaign and the National Youth Traffic Safety Month come at a crucial time for many young drivers. With prom season approaching, Pennsylvania DUI lawyers have been feeling concern about traffic safety and have been bracing themselves for the effects of underage drinking.
PennDOT not only focused its campaign on the young folk, but also placed an impetus on parents to educate their kids on the dangers of bad driving habits. PennDOT encouraged parents to set a good example for their kids by asking the parents, themselves, to avoid unsafe behavior.
In addition to asking the parents to set an example, PennDOT urged parents to talk to their kids about the dangers of driving before the kids turned 16. Other advice from PennDOT included enforcing a curfew for young drivers and riding with kids on occasion to monitor driving skills.
